Tuesday afternoon, a fire started in Griffith Park, Los Angeles and by nightfall it was making a run toward a line of homes below the park. In an unusual move for firefighting, helicopters continued their aerial assualt of water drops after the sun had set as the fire crested the ridge fronted by homes.

Great shots! I'm waiting for the fire season to start in Texas... thankfully we are getting rain this year.
