A fire broke out Friday near Universal City and Burbank, north of Los Angeles, sending a dark plume of smoke over the city and rising behind the landmark Hollywood sign.

Ford Motor Co. CEO Alan Mulally was in Los Angeles to follow-up on his commitment made at the National Automotive Dealers Association to work in a showroom to better understand the automotive business. So the Ford CEO took to the sales floor at a dealership in the San Fernando Valley to mix it up with the customers.
