Los Angeles made a bid to be the U.S. host of the 2016 Olympic Games, competing against Chicago. Several supporters, organizers and former Olympic athletes were on hand in Los Angeles for the live announcement from Washington D.C. to find out if LA or Chicago would prevail. Chicago was selected.
